Reissue of two great albums! Singer and composer Jiří Schelinger and musician and lyricist František Ring Čech created a number of hits in the 1970s, but it was these albums that became their common artistic peak. From bubblegum cover versions, they got here - in conjunction with a great band - exclusively to their own hard rock repertoire, partly surprisingly connected with our folk rock top.
Hrrr to them. (1977) are ten figures of the then socialism, sometimes boldly rattling, intertwined with peculiar nonsense tales. The band, drawn by the rhythms of Jiří Stárek (drums) / Jan Kavale (bass guitar) and decorated with the excellent guitar of Stanislav “Klásk“ Kubeš and the percussions of the Czech bandleader, is an ideal support for Schelinger' s uniquely hoarse and non-curly voice. In addition to key songs such as Carthage or Lucrezia Borgia, there is further evidence that even seemingly simple lyrics can get the necessary electrifying mood.
•. we like it. (1979) was a pleasant shock at the time of publication. In addition to the expected sturdy rock pieces, you will also find semi-acoustic songs with guests of interest from Petr Kalandra, Oskar Petr and Jan Hrubý. One of the gossipes says that it was a certain repertoire way out of an emergency, but the result is quite extraordinary. Historically, probably Schelinger' s most experienced singing, the undoubted power of often simple melodies, a great promise for a tragically unfortunately already unfulfilled future.
Remastered albums from the original tracks are supplemented by personnel and time-related bonuses in the number of 6 on each CD. The booklet contains interesting period reviews, memories and photographs.
Two legendary albums + a dozen bonuses = Jiří Schelinger (1951-1981)
