8K AI Upscaling - Artificial Intelligence Can Convert Lower Resolution Content to 8K
For QLED 900R TVs, Samsung decided to deploy artificial intelligence. With machine learning, the Samsung QLED 900R can recalculate resolution to 8K, increase sharpness, reduce noise, and enhance image structure. Unlike conventional upscaling, it doesn’t just multiply pixels, but also analyse the surrounding image. The processor then compares them with past frames to create new textures and margins. AI upscaling works best from a 4K source resolution, but it can handle lower image quality as well.
8K Resolution with 22.2-Channel Audio
In addition to high definition, the 8K format comes with 22.2-channel audio support, allowing you to connect up to 24 speakers in 3 layers, with 3 centre speakers and two subwoofers. All this is thanks to the new Super Hi-Vision television standard, whose predecessor was HDTV. Although this new feature is mainly meant for cinemas, dedicated audio-video connoisseurs can use it at home.
