2 - low elasticity

The parameter low elasticity refers to printing strings, technically called filaments, which are very strong and rigid after printing. The resulting object made of such material retains its shape and does not bend under normal load. When attempting to bend, the material puts up considerable resistance and breaks when its strength is exceeded, rather than elastically returning to its original position. This property is typical of commonly used materials such as PLA, PETG or ABS. Their stiffness makes these filaments suitable for the production of rigid and dimensionally stable parts, such as structural components, enclosures for electronics, prototypes or models where it is crucial that the print retains its exact dimensions and shape. They are therefore not suitable for applications where flexibility is required, such as the manufacture of seals or flexible enclosures.
