3 - medium flexibility

The "medium flexibility" parameter refers to a property of the filament that determines how flexible the resulting 3D print will be. A material with this characteristic is not completely rigid and brittle, but it is also not extremely rubbery and pliable. Prints made from such filament can be slightly bent or compressed and they will then return to their original shape without cracking. This property is useful for the production of functional parts that need to absorb shock, resist vibration or conform slightly to the shape of another object. Examples of applications are protective covers, flexible couplings, shock pads or more durable mechanical components. Compared to highly flexible materials, printing with medium-flexible ones is usually easier because the stiffer filament moves better in the printer's mechanism, the so-called extruder. It is therefore a compromise between rigidity and full flexibility.
