Component car speakers are a set that consists of several separate parts designed to reproduce sound as faithfully as possible. At the heart of the system is a larger 'mid-bass' speaker, which is usually fitted in the door and takes care of reproducing mid and low tones such as bass, vocals or most musical instruments. This is complemented by a separate smaller 'tweeter' speaker, also known as a tweeter, which is designed to reproduce high frequencies such as cymbals or hissing. Thanks to its small size, it can be placed higher up, for example on the dashboard or on a windscreen pillar, bringing the soundstage closer to the listener's ear level. The key element of the whole set is the "frequency switch". This is a small component that takes the complete audio signal from the car radio and intelligently splits it - sending only the low and mid frequencies to the mid-bass speaker and only the high frequencies to the tweeter. This splitting ensures that each speaker works with only the part of the sound it was designed for, resulting in clearer, more detailed and spatially better defined music reproduction.
