Drill stroke

The drill stroke is a figure that expresses the maximum vertical displacement of the column drill spindle in millimetres. The spindle is the rotating part of the machine on which the drill chuck is mounted. In practical terms, this means how deep a hole can be drilled in one smooth movement of the control lever without having to change the position of the material to be drilled. If the drill has a stroke of, for example, 80 mm, a hole up to 80 mm deep can be created in one step. To create a deeper hole, it would be necessary to either drill from the opposite side or move the work table with the material closer to the chuck and continue drilling.
