FT-88 Compatibility

The "FT-88 Compatibility" parameter determines whether a given towbar plug is designed to connect correctly and seamlessly to a specific type of electronic module or wiring kit designated as FT-88. Modern vehicles often use special modules to communicate with the trailer's electrical system to avoid error messages from the on-board computer, for example, due to differing light loads. If a plug is listed as having this compatibility, it means that its connector, number of pins and their wiring are exactly matched to the FT-88 system. This ensures that when plugged in, all lights on the trailer will function as they should and no damage to the vehicle's electronics will occur.
