IP24 is an Ingress Protection (IP) rating that indicates the resistance of electronic devices, such as headphones or speakers, to external influences. This code consists of two digits. The first digit, in this case '2', signifies protection against the ingress of solid foreign objects 12.5 millimeters in diameter and larger, which in practice corresponds, for example, to protection against a finger. The second digit, '4', informs about water resistance. Specifically, this means the device is protected against splashing water from all directions. Headphones or a speaker with an IP24 rating can therefore withstand, for example, sweat or light rain, but are not designed for immersion in water or exposure to a strong jet of water.
