A weaving technique that creates intricate patterns directly in the warp and weft using a jacquard mechanism. The motif is "woven" rather than printed and therefore better able to resist abrasion and fading. The result is a sculptural, elegant effect (e.g. damask) with a premium look. The disadvantage can be higher cost and sometimes weight, maintenance requires more gentle programs to avoid damaging the weave. Suitable for luxury bedding and decorative bedspreads.
