Textured backing with adhesive

The textured adhesive backing is a surface treatment for the 3D printer's printing surface. Its main task is to ensure good adhesion, technically called tack, of the first layer of the printed model. Proper adhesion of the print to the substrate is crucial to prevent the model from peeling and deteriorating during printing. The textured, i.e. slightly roughened surface leaves a characteristic matt and textured appearance on the underside of the print. The backing features a self-adhesive layer on the underside that makes it easy to stick to an existing print surface, such as steel plate or glass. It is often made from PEI material, which is a durable plastic that works well with commonly used printing strings known as filaments, such as PLA, PETG or ABS. Once the printing is complete and the print surface has cooled, the model is usually easier to separate from this type of surface.
