It's not a negative, but I'd rather not use the dishwasher until you have the decorative door installed. It goes open just fine, however the springs are built for the load that is missing (unless the door is installed). Thus, the door goes back up on its own, and quite abruptly, and needs to be held when you put the dishes in.
