It really holds the phone firmly (a 5.5" unbranded phone absolutely did not move even on a bumpy road).
The swivel joint allows you to shoot videos "lying down" or use the navigation "standing up"; the tilting angle allows you to point the phone directly in front of you for video shooting and at the same time, for navigation, place it almost horizontally (tilting angle of approx. 70°).
The silicone tabs can be threaded onto the clips in the middle to prevent them from "flopping" when I'm not using the holder.
Once the assembly was successful (see the problems in the cons section), the mount is totally reliable and easy to use.
Due to the position of the power keys and volume control on the side of the phone, I have to have the holder mounted "upside down", otherwise the clamp would squeeze the button(s) on the side
Installation was trial and error, as it was not clear at first glance how much backing rubber (supplied in the package) would be needed for a truly secure fit. Related to this is the confusing presence of another nut in the package (one removable nut is directly in the holder).
