Antenna

The antenna has a major influence on the quality of the received signal.

Which types of antennas do we recognise?

Omnidirectional - Suitable for a large WiFi area coverage.
Sectoral - They are used to cover a larger coherent space.
Directional - These WiFi antennas allow for a transmittance over long distances.

Previously, we could identify a router due to its protruding antenna. However, nowadays many models are equipped with built-in antennas due to their compact dimensions. The external antennas are either removable and replaceable, or are permanently attached.
