ABS-T filament

ABS-T is a printing filament, or filament, for 3D printers that is based on a material known as ABS. ABS itself is known for its high strength, toughness and ability to withstand higher temperatures, making it suitable for making functional mechanical parts or components exposed to heat. However, when printing with conventional ABS, a phenomenon called "warping" often occurs, which is the twisting and peeling of the print from the substrate due to the material shrinking as it cools. The ABS-T version is chemically treated to reduce this unwanted shrinkage. Thanks to this treatment, the filament has significantly less tendency to curl and crack during printing, making it easier to print especially larger objects and increasing the reliability of the entire process. The adhesion between the printed layers is also improved, making the resulting object more solid and stronger. It is also often characterised by a weaker smell during melting compared to standard ABS. As a result, ABS-T offers mechanical and thermal properties similar to standard ABS, but with a simpler and more stable print that does not require as specific conditions as, for example, a completely enclosed printer to maintain a stable temperature.
