Capacity measurement

In capacitive mode, the multimeter charges the capacitor with a defined current and calculates the capacitance from the time constant, which is displayed in pF-mF. The instrument must be connected to a disconnected and discharged component; discharge electrolytic capacitors with a resistor before measuring to avoid damaging the instrument. Accuracy decreases with increasing impedance and large loss factor, so the use of a special LCR bridge is advisable for large capacitances.
