Autonomous landing is a function that allows a drone to land independently and safely at a predetermined or suitable location without direct pilot control. For this maneuver, it uses data from various sensors, such as GPS for position determination, a barometric altimeter for altitude measurement, and downward-facing sensors, for example, optical or ultrasonic ones, for detecting the surface below it. The function is typically activated by pressing a button on the controller, automatically when the battery is low, or upon loss of connection between the drone and the controller, which is referred to as the "Return to Home" function. In such a case, the drone returns to its takeoff point and lands itself.
