Certification EN 17092 is a European technical standard that specifies the requirements for protective clothing for motorcycle riders. The aim of this standard is to verify that clothing can provide protection in the event of an accident. During the certification process, several key properties are tested, mainly the resistance of the material to puncture when sliding on the road, the strength of the seams, which must withstand impact, and the resistance of the fabric to tearing. The standard divides clothing into several classes according to the level of protection provided. Class 'AAA' is the highest protection category. Garments in this class are designed and tested for high-speed driving and high-risk situations such as driving on a racing circuit. Therefore, if a motorcycle shirt is certified in the "AAA" class, it means that despite its civilian appearance, it meets the strictest protection criteria and its performance is comparable to equipment designed for racing use, such as leather overalls.
