The "DAB+ Tuner" parameter indicates the HiFi device's ability to receive digital radio broadcasts. This is a modern technology that replaces older analogue broadcasts, known as FM or AM. The main difference lies in the signal transmission, which with DAB+ is digital, eliminating the noise, crackling and other interference typical of analogue radio with weaker signals. The result is clear, stable sound that is often comparable in quality to listening from a CD. Digital technology also makes more efficient use of broadcast frequencies, allowing more radio stations to be offered on DAB+, including narrowband stations that do not broadcast on the analogue band. Tuning stations is easier for the user because instead of searching for a specific frequency, they can select from a list of available stations by name. Along with the audio, DAB+ can also transmit additional information that is displayed on the tuner's display, such as the title of the song currently playing, the name of the artist or current news.
