Flat crowbars

Flat crowbars are hand tools made from a single piece of flat, usually hardened steel. Unlike conventional crowbars with a round or hexagonal body cross-section, their main part is wide and flat. The tool is usually terminated on both sides, with each side having a different shape and function. One end tends to be curved, often with a "V" shaped cutout that serves as a pry bar for easy nail removal. The other end is usually flat, thin and may be slightly curved, making it easier to insert into narrow gaps. The main use of flat crowbars is to separate joined materials such as wooden planks, flooring, window frames or cladding strips. Due to their wide and flat design, they distribute the applied force over a larger area, reducing the risk of damaging the material to be soldered compared to tools with a narrow tip.
