The French blade head, also referred to as the "French point", is a specific type of razor tip. Its shape is characterised by the smooth rounding of the blade's spine, which transitions into a very sharp and defined tip, thus visually resembling a quarter circle. This design is designed to combine precision and safety. The sharp tip allows the user to work precisely when shaping details such as the contours of the beard, moustache, sideburns or when shaving hard-to-reach areas such as around the nose. Unlike the square head, which has a sharp tip and corner, the French head is slightly more forgiving thanks to its rounded back, reducing the risk of accidental pricks. Compared to the fully round head, which is the safest but lacks a precise tip, it offers significantly better control for a detailed and precise shave. It is a balanced shape that is popular for its ability to handle both smooth shaving of large areas and fine, precise work.
