FT bayonet

The FT bayonet refers to the specific type of connector used when wiring the electrical socket of the towing bracket. Its main characteristic is the so-called "bayonet" connection system, which is a mechanism based on the principle of push and turn. Instead of the conventional screwing of the individual wires into the terminal block, this connector simply slides onto the back of the socket and is securely locked in place by a slight twist. This method greatly simplifies and speeds up the installation of the wiring system, as it ensures a quick and firm connection of the vehicle wiring harness to the contacts in the socket. It therefore serves as a quick coupler for transmitting signals for trailer lights such as turn signals, brake lights and marker lights.
