JOKON bayonet

The JOKON bayonet is a specific type of connector used to connect lights on trailers and caravans. The JOKON brand is a manufacturer specializing in lighting technology for vehicles. The term "bayonet" itself refers to a mechanical connection method that works on the principle of pushing in and turning slightly, resulting in a firm and secure connection. This system allows very quick and easy installation or replacement of the light without the need for tools and the manipulation of individual electrical wires. If a light fixture, such as the rear lamp cluster, is damaged, simply unlock the old connector by twisting it, disconnect it and snap the new light onto the trailer wiring in the same way. The connector is designed so that it can only be plugged in one correct position, minimising the risk of miswiring and subsequent non-functioning of the light. This type of connection is therefore not used to connect the tow vehicle and trailer, but to connect the tail light to the wiring on the trailer itself.
