Look Keo locks

Look Kéo locks, often referred to as "trunks", are plastic parts that are mounted on the sole of a special bicycle trunks. They serve to firmly connect the cyclist's foot to the pedal. This connection not only allows you to pedal downwards, but also to pull the pedal upwards, resulting in more efficient power transfer and smoother pedalling. The lock clicks into the pedal by stepping on it and the heel needs to be turned sideways to release the foot. Look Kéo locks come in several colour variations, which differ in what is known as the "slack" or floating motion. This clearance indicates how many degrees the foot is free to move laterally when locked in the pedal, which helps accommodate the natural movement of the knee and ankle. Black locks usually offer zero clearance, so the foot is completely fixed in the pedal. Grey locks offer a small amount of play, most commonly around 4.5 degrees, and red locks have the most play, typically 9 degrees. It's important to know that these locks are only compatible with Look Kéo pedals and with cycling shoes that have a standard three-hole mounting on the sole.
