The LT bayonet is a type of connector used in trailer wiring. The name "bayonet" itself describes the way in which the connector is secured - by inserting it and then turning it to lock it firmly and reliably. This element is used to easily and quickly connect the main wiring harness leading from the towing vehicle to the individual rear lights on the trailer, such as directional, brake or tail lights. This system eliminates the need to cut and solder individual wires when installing or replacing a damaged light. The whole process is simply a matter of disconnecting the old light and connecting the new one using this connector. To simplify wiring, the bayonet connectors are often colour coded, typically yellow for the left side and green for the right side of the trolley, which helps to avoid incorrect wiring.
