Manual Transmission Fluids (MTF)

Manual Transmission Fluids, often abbreviated as MTF, are special types of lubricants designed for vehicles with manual transmissions. Their main task is to lubricate moving components, such as gears and synchronizers, thereby reducing friction and wear and enabling smooth and precise shifting. Unlike engine oils, they have a different composition and viscosity, which is a measure of fluidity, adapted to the specific operating conditions in the gearbox where high pressures prevail. They also contain special additives that protect metal parts from corrosion and improve the overall durability of the oil. When selecting, it is necessary to follow the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations, which specify the required performance standard and viscosity grade, for example 75W-90.
