NP-F batteries

NP-F batteries are a standardised rechargeable battery system originally developed by Sony but now used by a wide range of manufacturers. The key feature of this system is a single physical connector, referred to as the "NP-F mount". This makes it possible to use the same battery to power devices from different brands as long as they are equipped with this connector. The batteries differ in their capacity, which indicates how long they can power the device. The capacity is usually indicated by a numerical code, for example NP-F550, NP-F750 or NP-F970. A higher number generally means a physically larger battery with a higher capacity, and therefore a longer battery life for the connected device. In the photo light category, these batteries serve as the most common power source for portable LED lights. However, their use is not limited to lights, they also power external preview monitors, some video cameras and other accessories used in filming and photography.
