Object tracking is an automatic function where a drone autonomously tracks and records a selected target. The user marks an object on the controller's or mobile phone's display, such as a person, vehicle, or animal. The drone then uses its camera and image recognition software to keep this object in frame and adjust its flight accordingly. During tracking, the drone moves autonomously, meaning without direct pilot control. Individual manufacturers may refer to this technology by their own names, such as „ActiveTrack“ or „FocusTrack“. The reliability of the function depends on good lighting conditions and on the tracked object not being temporarily obscured by another item or moving too quickly and unpredictably.
