PAJet material is a printing filament, or filament, designed for FDM 3D printing technology. The abbreviation PA stands for polyamide, a material better known by the trade name nylon. PAJet is therefore a specific variant of nylon filament that is characterized by high mechanical strength, toughness and wear resistance. This means that prints made from it are strong, do not break immediately when bent and can withstand friction well. It also offers good heat resistance, so that parts retain their properties even at higher temperatures, and chemical resistance, especially to oils and lubricants. Its key characteristic is so-called hygroscopicity. This term refers to the material's ability to absorb moisture in the air. If the filament gets wet, the water turns to vapour in the nozzle, causing cracking, bubbles and leading to fragile and poor-quality prints. For this reason, the material should always be dried before use and stored in a dry environment. For printing, it requires a higher nozzle temperature as well as a heated pad to prevent the model from curling and peeling during cooling. Due to its properties, it is mainly used for printing functional and stressed parts such as gears, hinges, bearings or other technical components where a combination of strength, flexibility and durability is required.
