RC photo paper, which stands for "Resin Coated", refers to a type of photo paper whose core is enclosed between two layers of plastic, specifically polyethylene (PE). This sandwich construction protects the paper base itself from moisture and ink penetration. Thus, when printing, the ink is not absorbed into the paper fibres, but remains on the surface in a special layer that accepts it. The result is a sharper image with truer colours because the printing dots do not break up. This structure also ensures that the paper dries quickly after printing and remains dimensionally stable, so it is less prone to curling or waving. It is a standard material for both general and professional photo printing and is characterised by its durability and consistent print quality.
