Shavetta is a shaving tool that resembles a classic razor in shape and use, but differs fundamentally from it in the blade system. Whereas a traditional razor has a fixed, integrated blade that must be regularly sharpened and wrapped around a belt, the shavetta works on the principle of interchangeable blades. Usually half of a standard double-edged razor blade is inserted into its holder. This system is highly hygienic, which is why shavettes are commonly used in professional barbershops, where a new sterile blade must be used for each customer. For the home user, the shavetta represents a transition between modern shaving and a traditional razor, as it offers a similar experience and precision shave without the maintenance requirements of a blade. Shaving with the shavetta requires practice, as its thin, razor-sharp blade is less "forgiving" than a traditional razor blade.
