V-Mount is a standardized mounting and power supply system for professional equipment such as external lights or cameras. It gets its name from the characteristic wedge-shaped "V" lock that securely clicks the battery into a compatible counter-piece on the device. This standardization makes it possible to combine batteries and devices from different manufacturers as long as both support V-Mount. These batteries are used where high capacity and long life is needed for power-hungry devices. Modern V-Mount batteries often serve as a central power source and offer additional connectors in addition to the main output. These include, for example, a D-Tap for powering camera accessories or USB-A and USB-C ports that allow you to charge, for example, a phone or power smaller devices at the same time. The entire system thus simplifies powering film or photography equipment from a single source.
