A 3-point belt is the basic form of child restraint in some types of car seats, especially those designed for larger children (often called backrest booster seats). This belt is part of the vehicle equipment and goes over the child's shoulder, chest and side. For 3-point belt compatible car seats, it is important that the belt is correctly routed and tensioned to provide maximum protection without the risk of slipping. This system is common from approximately 100 cm of the child's height.
