Neuzavřené případy je dílem na pomezí detektivky a psychologického dramatu. Britská autorka Kate Atkinson má skvělý smysl pro detail. Umí také velmi hutně a dopodrobna vykreslit postavy. Poutavě nám předkládá jejich nálady, myšlenkové pochody a pocity, které se snadno přenáší na čtenáře a velmi dobře jej pohltí.
Tři rodiny se obracejí na soukromého detektiva
Kniha nás uvádí do děje vylíčením tří různých pozapomenutých a stále nedořešených případů třech rodin. Ty se po letech dostávají ,,na stůl" soukromého detektiva Jacksona Brodeima. Pro něj samotného je tento úkol vytržením a změnou z dosavadní práce, kterou je převážně hledání důkazů nevěry pro své klienty.
Velká část knihy, možná i lehce na úkor udržení pozornosti čtenáře, je věnována popisu postav, které si detektiva najaly a důvodům, proč tak po letech učinily. Ovšem závěr knihy má spád a není nijak uspěchaný a nelogický. Čtenář tak bude spokojen s tím, že se detektivovi povede případy objasnit i když rozhodně nelze mluvit o happy endu.
Komu se kniha bude líbit?
Knihu bych doporučila všem, kteří jsou fanoušky klasické chandlerovské detektivy a nehoní se pouze za vrahem.
