We were looking for a replacement for BOSH after 15 years. We were looking for a simple dishwasher that lasts, doesn't have to have a million programs and gadgets; we want the dishwasher to work, wash dishes and last at least 10 years. We'll see if Beko delivers. We have been recommended Beko, other manufacturers are supposedly more faulty and especially branded manufacturers ala Bosh and AEG are more expensive to service. However, we will only be able to assess this in 5 years or more. The first experience with the squeaky engine and service turned out well, hopefully it was the first and last time for a long time.

we didn't get used to the cutlery drawer, we took it out and used the cutlery basket from the old dishwasher - I don't know if this is a downside, but I mention it here because we find the cutlery drawer impractical

the dishwasher whistled when washing (a soft thin high-pitched unpleasant sound); Beko came under warranty and replaced the motor/pump (supposedly a known problem with older models, probably the technician said the older motor had wandered into the new dishwasher)
