I’m reviewing the DJI Lito 1. I bought it as part of a starter kit because I thought I’d crash it straight away, just like my first no-name Chinese drone, but that hasn’t happened yet (although it was a close call). After 20 days, I’ve clocked up 6 hours of flight time, 70 km, 49 take-offs and 3 crashes, all of which the drone survived. I bought a 1-year DJI Care Refresh warranty for 790 CZK; it can then be extended to 2 years, so there’s no need to pay for a longer term straight away. I’m happy with the RC-N3 basic remote control. I’ll be buying some extra batteries, a charger for them and a bag, so I’d recommend getting the Fly More Combo (if your budget allows) and the DJI Care Refresh warranty (straight away) – then you’ll be all set. I’m happy with the drone; I’d give it 5 stars if it had a better remote control range and greater altitude capability – I want to fly far and high
DJI simulator – connect your drone’s controller to your mobile and practise
But there’s no need – the drone is wonderfully stable and easy to control; I wouldn’t even mind letting the children have a go
Automatic take-off and landing – pure luxury. If it loses the signal, it will return on its own; if you switch off the remote control whilst it’s in flight, it will return
The sensors work well; under normal circumstances, they don’t get stuck
It lasts about 25 minutes on a single charge and has a good range; I managed to fly it 2 km there and back, and it can certainly go further, but there’s a problem with the remote control’s signal strength
I’m happy with the quality of the photos and videos, but I only use them for myself – I’m not a content creator
He had 3 car crashes (and survived): 1) In the twilight, immediately after the start, he crashed into a wooden gate about 2 metres away; he simply lost his balance and fell. 2) Whilst flying along a path in the orchard, surrounded on all sides by dense vegetation, he brushed against some tall grass and fell. 3) Whilst climbing slowly straight up, he collided with the power lines. Flying at a height of about 5 metres, it wobbled but managed to stay airborne and landed normally despite having four damaged propellers. The propellers are the same as those on the DJI Mini 3, costing around 200 per set
It only has a range of 120 metres; the range would be great, but all it takes is a small hill or an obstacle for it to lose the signal and come back. So my actual range is about 2 km so far
The battery takes about 1 hour to charge in the drone using the 65W charger
The camera needs a micro SD card, but you don’t need to buy one straight away. To start with, I put 16 GB from my old mobile in there; the drone keeps saying it’s slow, but it works
On Android, the DJI Fly app downloads photos directly to the phone’s internal storage, and into the ‘Camera’ backup folder at that – and there’s no way to change this to the SD card. It’s a right faff to move it manually.

Anyone can fly a drone
the sensors prevent the aircraft from colliding with an obstacle
approx. 30 min. battery life
quality video
The app had to be downloaded from China; the phone put up quite a bit of a fight.
