A poor quality manipulative book, full of half-truths and hidden propaganda. Mr Vondruška is very peculiar with facts, it is not clear from what sources he draws his "press reports" documenting real events of our recent history, I suspect that it will be Parlamentí listy or similar publications, because even the protagonist has his first post-Soviet article published in the quote "free-thinking Parlamentí listy", where his publishers apparently confuse freedom of speech with the dissemination of unverified information or outright disinformation. I deleted the book from my reader the moment the author picks out the news about the annexation of Crimea from the press without using the word annexation. It also gives a very unbalanced account of the events that preceded the annexation. And so it is, unfortunately, with the events of the state, literary characters not excluded - the former Stb workers are the only ones who have it straightened out in their heads, the former dissidents are represented by the first wife of the main character. She is portrayed in the book as a selfish c***a with a tendency to alcoholism, who disowns her two middle children because of her first husband's involvement with the communists and the Stb, and shows little interest in her youngest daughter while building her career in Brussels. In general, the literary characters of the story are flat, their relationships are presented in a very linear, even kitschy way. I probably would have put the book down anyway the moment the author commits fiction, which disappointed even otherwise enthusiastic readers. I would recommend this publication as an example for courses on media literacy and working with misinformation.

Good to read
The description of the future starts quite logically, gradually the dêj starts to be attached to the hair (e.g: a district-level militia will defeat an army or thousands of Muslims)
