Our cat was pretty good with that. The feathers on the ends got chewed off pretty quickly, but he doesn't mind, he still enjoys it. You need to keep an eye on the cat when playing and put it away after playing, as it looks like it might rip the feathers out and possibly eat the bell. He didn't pull out on either barbell for us, but we're paying attention.
