All 42 LEDs are only lit when you select a medium warm colour (roughly equivalent to the Bright mode). If you choose pure cold (Concentration, Encouraging) or warm white (Relaxing), only 14 LEDs are always lit and the light has half (cold) to a quarter (warm white) luminosity.
