This is a passive aerial without a built-in amplifier! Be careful about mindlessly amplifying the FM signal, especially with "miracle" aerials! This usually only leads to amplifier oscillation and overloads the car radio's aerial input. Especially in cities with strong local transmitters! In a car, there's no need to use an amplifier to cover losses in the coaxial lead to the car radio – it's short. Whatever's in the air, this will deliver it to the car radio in unchanged quality!
So it doesn't require a +12V power supply via the coax.
The mechanical design is flawless.
With a passive aerial, laymen won't be disappointed to find there's no phantom power supply in the car, and therefore no 12V supply voltage in the coax cable. Not to mention the hassle of then having to get power to an active aerial.
A fully-fledged replacement for the original passive aerial (e.g. for an Octavia and other VW Group cars – the hole in the roof is square, not round).
Can also be used if the original aerial had an amplifier. The presence of 12V in the coaxial cable is not an issue at all; the aerial doesn't short-circuit the voltage (but does conduct it to the base of the removable rod).
INCORRECT DESCRIPTION of the product. The aerial is passive (no mention of this) and therefore doesn't use 12V for its power supply. It receives a signal and sends it to the car radio without any power supply at all (which is good).

The rod can be unscrewed completely, this will not cause damage in the dishwasher as with the original model.
Fits well, does not leak into the roof
