What beasts. In gaming mode everything is a blast and completely inaudible (that was the goal), but in full load it's really hard to keep it cool, and realistically there are only two air coolers that can do that: BeQuiet DarkRock Elite, and Noctua NH-D15. I chose the BeQuiet, but I was just above 95°C and throttled slightly. So I replaced the paste with Noctua NT-H2, and now I'm at 86°C max, which in a soundproof Define S2 case is a great result. I have two slow fans on the intake, so I had to add a third, and the rear exhaust fan had to be sped up.

The processor is unstable with standard power supply, it had to be reduced by 20 mV to be able to party without interruption for more than half an hour. And it did not overheat at standard voltage and water cooling. So I actually recommend it with reservations. Maybe it's an inferior piece, but that one's probably pretty hard to claim.

I'm switching from an i9-14900KF which is a brutal processor and probably a bit more powerful than this ryzen, but it's a juggernaut - basically a little Temelin. I had to throttle the processor to 250W in Biose to be able to keep it cool with a conductor. Beware, the same applies to 9800x3d - you need to set the negative curve in the bios to -10 (if you have a watercooler) or up to -20 with a classic cooler, otherwise this processor will also give you 95 degrees at maximum load. I have it set to -10, performance hasn't dropped a percent and at full fire the processor spins max. 75 degrees Celsius.
