sounds divine - thanks to its own microphones and room/location monitoring, it can play the full spectrum even quietly, can deliver incomparably better bass at this price (e.g. JBL, Bose, etc. )
apple-like easy to start - just borrows a few details from the iPhone and grabs all the wifi and accounts, no setup
disables some audio settings in 3rd party apps (e.g. disables Spotify's equalizer) to prevent distortion. Smart.
Siri needs a Music account, it can't open other apps, hence not even Spotify, so it doesn't allow you to play on command from your profile there. Maybe this will shift in the fall with iOS13. Of course you can stream to it from all devices, the MBPro is connected by default and you just need to switch the audio to the Homepod.
It's part of SmartHome and so you go to the settings separately via the Home / Household app
