I was looking for a tea kettle to make multiple infusions. The plan was to brew the tea to the desired temperature and turn on the KEEP WARM function so that the kettle would hold the temperature and I could pour the tea straight away without reheating. Unfortunately, this is not how this kettle works. Let's say we want to heat water to 60°C. The KEEP WARM function works by heating the water to 100°C and then you have to wait for the water to cool down to the desired 60°C before maintaining the temperature. To make matters worse, you've already finished your tea and want to make another infusion. So you take the kettle off the attachment, pour the tea and put the kettle back on the attachment and you want the kettle to continue to maintain temperature. Unfortunately, the KEEP WARM function switches off when you take it off the attachment, you have to switch it on again, which causes further heating of the water to 100°C. Which genius is behind this product, I would really like to know. It's the most stupidly designed product with great potential I know. I switched to the Philco PHWK 2001, which, while not as nice, doesn't have this shortcoming and has a number of great extra features.
