The watch is "right-sized" - the dial is easy to read in the vast majority of cases. The problem is that some apps are not optimized for smaller viewport, then some information is cropped weirdly and touch navigation is not great in them either, but this is a minimum of cases. The smaller size and low weight are great not only during the day, but especially at night, when the watch on the wrist or while sleeping does not bother. When I compared in the family with Vívo active 5 - From my perspective Vívo offer "more for life" - more sports modes, meditation mode, "flashlight" and other features that simply didn't fit into the forerunners because of the primary focus on running. The battery life is fine, without sports it can do about 10 days (the last day will run more on power saving mode). Sport drains roughly 5-12%, so if you play sport every day, you will recharge in about 4-5 days. Often my watch misses my sleep so much that it doesn't register it at all. Some data is sometimes lost for other metrics like VST or body battery. Fun features like number of floors climbed are really just fun, but they try. The watch lives with you, so your heart rate limits, workload or daily step goal changes dynamically. Be nice to them at the beginning, about 30 minutes after unpacking them I showered them to test the water resistance and they just wiped the data. But I've been swimming with them a few times since then and they work just fine. What works just fine is the music player - about 5/8 of the way through listening, the sound skips and is intermittent and it doesn't matter if you're running or lying down - tested with the default player, spotify and several types of headphones (but perhaps this is a defect in one model). If you go running often and want to know when to turn it home before the sun goes down, buy it.
I' m still getting to know the strap and the lightness on the hand is divine. The amoled display is amazing. Function up to.
Unfortunately, the description of the Start button is missing S, I only have (tart). Unfortunately, I only found out after sticking the foil in the store.
I am writing this review after a week of use. I thought about Garmin for a long time, because my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 after 2 years of use measured complete rubbish when running. I was a bit worried about the Garmin "internal" interface though, as I found it quite dated and the gestures slow from other models. So I was always hesitating which model would be the most suitable for me and whether to switch from the modern Samsung Watch to the sporty Garmin. I was hesitating between the nice-looking VENU 3 and some Fererunner model because I wasn't sure about the sporty look. At the same time, I run quite a lot and I wanted the most suitable watch for running. In the end, though, I opted for the Forerunner 165 Sport because it's a Garmin novelty at a nice price and in a nice design. I was betting a lot on the fact that this is a new model - I was hoping that the environment would not be so outdated. And fortunately, it worked. I was very pleasantly surprised by the watch. The "internal" environment is not outdated at all, on the contrary, the display is beautiful, legible and the gestures are smooth. I was worried about the button controls, but fortunately this model offers combined button and touch controls - surprisingly I actively use both. It is, in short, a model where I found everything I needed and there is absolutely nothing that the Samsung Watch 4 can do that I missed here. Conversely, Garmin offers me the standard Samsung Watch + excellent sports features. I absolutely loved the need for recovery or the recommended run for today. After a week of use, I have 14% battery today. But it's true that as a new user, I've been looking for/setting something in my watch every day - all day + my watch has measured my activity 5 times this week, each time for about 1 hour. When I compare it to the (2-year-old) Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, the Garmin Forerunner 165 is much faster in notifications (the Samsung Watch 4 didn't even show me all the notifications), smoother in gestures, the find mobile feature responds instantly, and I don't even need to talk about the battery: Samsung Watch 4 I had to charge after 12 hours, here I have 14% after a week of heavy use. It really makes life easier when you don't have to wait for the watch to charge before each run. Of course, I was also thinking about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, but the battery life here is simply terrible and after the experience with the Samsung Wacth I will probably not return to Samsung watches. The Garmin Conect app is fine with me. The activities are immediately overwritten on Strava. The only downside is that your activities aren't logged into Samsung Health, but that's such a cluttered app anyway that Garmin Conect replaces it with ease. As much as I was dreading the switch to Garmin, I am extremely happy with the Foreruner 165. I recommend all ten.
