I was surprised at how tiny the phone actually is and it's a good thing! The phone fits great in the hand can be easily operated with one hand plus the haptics are incredible with every notification, typing. For many years I had Xiaomi phones and I was deciding between Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. While I would appreciate telephoto and experimenting with PRO camera features, I can't get over the large size of the Pixel 8 Pro and I'm sorry that Google didn't put at least a weaker telephoto in the normal 8. In this, I like the Iphone philosophy better, where their Pro is just as big as the Pixel 8. But fortunately, I also own a classic camera where I can mess around more. Pure new Android without extensions is a blast. The battery life is definitely worse than my previous Xiaomi 12X, but it's nothing dramatic, a day, a day and a half of normal use the mobile can handle. Despite the pixel binning, the camera's main lens is great and generally the photos are true to colour. I quickly got used to this "Pixel style" of photo presentation and now when I look at my old Xiaomi photos, they seem oversaturated and sometimes lacking in detail. I wasn't expecting such a great video on the Pixel, I even tried shooting video with it in difficult conditions at a concert and it turned out beyond my expectations.

120 Hz display, good sunlight readability, great response and colour rendering.
Premium phone design, feels really good in the hand.
Speakers are not the best, but still the sound quality is good enough, even the hint of bass is noticeable
Amazing camera, the main camera shoots really nice, portrait mode is great, the wide-angle lens is rather average, but despite that, the photos are usable. The front camera is again average, but it doesn't offend. No reservations about the night mode photos either, maybe too overexposed in places, but that's about preference. Zoom mode is not the worst, but don't expect miracles from it.
The 4k video at 60 fps stands up decently (you have to manually set it, it defaults to lower quality), stabilization is seamless. Time lapse has the ability to adjust the speed up to 120x.
Pure android - you don't have a ton of useless third-party apps - this makes the system snappy - probably the best experience you can have with android.
AI photo editing - lots of great features to try out, it's great to play around with. I would like to mention AI here several times, which Google prides itself on, unfortunately many of them are not available on the Czech market.
The optical fingerprint reader in the display is definitely not a disaster, 99% responsive on the first try and it's snappy.
7 years software support!
There is no localization for the Czech market - you will lose a lot of the features it offers. Unfortunately, because of this, the purchase price is also higher.
Macro mode for photos is unusable, the quality drops dramatically.
For me the battery life could be a little stronger, over a full day of use it lasts just barely.
Charging speed rather below average
The back of the phone is more squeezable, but who carries a phone without a cover these days.
