LP Record Dies Occidendum by DJ Muggs The Black Goat was conceived as a soundtrack to a film that doesn't yet exist – a mythical journey through fog-shrouded, scorched terrain from hip hop's original "dark brother of the order". Known and revered as the sonic mastermind behind Cypress Hill and his own Soul Assassins imprint, Muggs leaves the MCs behind to present his latest solo work as a kind of illuminated manuscript; an immersive instrumental soundtrack to the mysterious "Dies Occidendum". No one wields the Excalibur of sonic darkness quite like Muggs, whom Pitchfork hailed as the "go-to producer for gritty, throwback East Coast street rap".
LP Record After the success of the album "Death Walks Behind You", a performance on Top of the Pops and a successful tour, it was time for the new stars Atomic Rooster to record their third album. The album is a perfect example of the band's evolution. Less bombastic than its predecessors, "In Hearing Of" is almost funky. The lyrics are – as was common in British hard rock at the time – full of doom and gloom, with occasional allusions to classical music bubbling to the surface. Against this, Atomic Rooster sets Vincent Crane's tasty keyboards and ear-catching melodies. If we had to define the genre of "In Hearing Of", we could say it's not quite metal, nor is it entirely progressive, but it is nonetheless moving and very well executed.
LP Record Hailing from Franklin, Tennessee, they have the irresistible charm of a guitar-driven rock band trying to see how far they can get with a few energetic songs and total dedication. And it seems they've come quite a long way, as last year you could have seen PARAMORE on the Warped Tour 2006 and on an extensive UK tour, even though some of the band members aren't even old enough to get into clubs. The youngest is just 16 and the oldest is 22, yet the quartet has recently skyrocketed to become one of the hottest new acts on the American scene. Frontwoman Hayley Williams, an energetic redhead who's even cuter than Avril Lavigne, immediately catches your eye.
LP Record With this album, Oldfield followed up his brilliant debut, "Tubular Bells", which has long since made its mark on music history since its release on 25.5.1973. Listening to the new album, the parallels and differences with the original "Tubular Bells" are immediately clear. The structure of the music is partly identical. The "Master of Ceremonies", the "Monster Roar", and the "Western Saloon" at the end are all present once again. The compositions more or less correspond to the 'spirit' of the original in tempo and timbre, but the melodies are completely new. As a result, "Tubular Bells II" feels very familiar on one hand, yet quite different on the other. Any concern that Mike Oldfield had simply created a plagiarism of his own work is impressively dispelled.
LP Record Born somewhere in the Arizona desert, Puscifer are an electro-rock band, a multimedia experience, a travelling circus and survivors of alien abduction. The band's back catalogue consists of three studio albums – "V is for Vagina" (2007), "Conditions of My Parole" (2011) and "Money $hot" (2015) – plus a number of EPs and remixes. In addition to the core trio of Maynard James Keenan (vocals), Mat Mitchell (guitar, production) and Carina Round (vocals, songwriting), the group's ever-evolving lineup includes Greg Edwards (bass, guitar, keyboards), Gunnar Olsen (drums) and a cast of characters such as Billy D and his wife Hildy Berger, Major Douche, Special Agent Dick Merkin, and many more.
LP Record It was often said that Elvis Presley's soundtracks never quite measured up to his studio albums. While this is largely true, the music from the film "Blue Hawaii", in which Presley starred, defies that notion. Released in 1961 to accompany the film, the triple-platinum record held the top spot on the Billboard album chart for almost five months. Now, the album has received an audio upgrade worthy of a rock star. The Mobile Fidelity reissue transports listeners to the carefree, innocent world of the early 1960s and the soothing, relaxed atmosphere of the famous Pacific islands.
Music CD - He named the second album Pokáč after one of the songs, which - as he himself admits - with its name “describes quite accurately“ his manual dexterity. Out of the total number of 14 songs, five are already well known thanks to funny video clips that the songwriter published on YouTube.
