Acupressure massage is a specific program in electrostimulators that mimics the traditional Chinese medicine technique called acupressure. In classic acupressure, pressure is applied to specific points on the body to release tension and alleviate pain. An electrostimulator achieves this effect using electrodes placed on the body at the acupressure points. The device then sends gentle electrical impulses into these points, which stimulate the nerve endings and muscles in the given area. This stimulation helps to release stiff muscles, promotes local blood circulation, and can contribute to a reduction in pain perception. The program often combines the principles of TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), which blocks pain signals, and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation), which induces muscle contractions.
