Loop Dynamic Bearing (LDB)

The Loop Dynamic Bearing, or LDB for short, is a type of fluid dynamic bearing used in fans. Its principle lies in creating a thin layer of lubricant, most commonly oil, between the rotating shaft and the fixed bearing housing. As the fan rotates, this lubricant is pumped by specially shaped grooves and circulates in a closed loop. This continuous circulation is referred to as "Loop." This closed system ensures continuous lubrication, prevents oil leakage, and simultaneously protects the internal mechanism from the ingress of dust and other contaminants. Since the metal parts of the bearing do not physically touch, their friction and wear are significantly reduced. The result is very quiet fan operation and a longer lifespan compared to more common bearing types.
