Powered by Supercapacitor

A supercapacitor is a type of power source that replaces the conventional lithium-ion battery in dashcams. Its main advantage is significantly higher resistance to extreme temperatures, both high in summer and low in winter. This gives it a longer lifespan and makes it more reliable, as it does not suffer from the so-called "swelling" or loss of capacity like batteries exposed to heat behind the windshield. Unlike a battery, however, it stores only a very small amount of energy. This energy does not serve to operate the camera without power from the vehicle, but only for the safe storage of the last video recording and proper shutdown of the device after power interruption, for example, after switching off the car engine.
