Optical (photoelectric) sensor

The optical (photoelectric) sensor in smoke detectors works on the principle of detecting changes in the light beam inside the detector chamber. When smoke enters the chamber, it scatters the light beam, triggering an alarm. This type of sensor is particularly effective in detecting smoke from smouldering fires such as burning fabric or paper. Optical sensors are energy efficient and less prone to false alarms.
