Disk interface

The drive interface determines how the drive is connected to the laptop motherboard and how fast it can transfer data. The most common interfaces are SATA (Serial ATA) and NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express), which are used with SSDs. NVMe drives are generally faster than SATA, but also more expensive. Other interfaces include the older PATA (Parallel ATA) or the newer U.2, which are mainly used in servers and high-performance workstations.
